PS4 FIFA 20 bundle buyer’s guide

We now have confirmation about which bundles we'll be getting for the PS4. As we anticipated, Sony have retained the marketing rights to the lucrative FIFA franchise. This means that while the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One will inevitably get packaged with FIFA 20 by retailers, only the PS4 will be available in a 'hard' bundle, where the game is packaged within the console box itself, with the FIFA artwork on the console box.

In all, there are going to be four PS4 FIFA bundles. This is actually one less than last year, although still plenty to get your head around! The bundles, as expected, cover the PS4 Slim 500GB, PS4 Slim 1TB, and the PS4 Pro. There's also an option for extra controllers, although unlike last year, there's no choice between editions - all bundles come packaged with the standard edition of FIFA 20.

Bundle 1 - PS4 Slim 500GB

Comes with a black PS4 Slim 500GB console, a single DualShock 4 controller, and FIFA 20.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like we'll be getting any more bundles, which means that there'll be no custom console bundle, nor will there be any with special editions of the game packaged with the hard bundles. However, even with these bundles, there will be retailers out there who chose to create their own PS4 bundles with FIFA 20. To get a full run down of the options available to you, visit our PS4 page.

Nintendo Switch FIFA 20 bundle buyer’s guide

While they don’t have all the functionality of the Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game, the last two FIFA titles have nonetheless proved a hit on Nintendo Switch. The ability to take the world’s premier football sim out and about with you and play on the go in handheld mode makes it a huge draw.

This year, we’ll have a bigger range of Switch FIFA bundles than we’ve ever had before, thanks to the launch of two new versions of the Switch console.

Firstly, the classic Switch is getting an upgrade, with improved battery life the key piece of information. These new consoles will be differentiated from the original versions of the Switch by their box, and are expected to arrive in the UK in September. Details can be found here.

What does this mean for FIFA bundles on the Switch? Well, for starters, many retailers may well have a lot of stock of the classic, lower battery life consoles that they’re looking to get rid of, so it could see some very enticing price drops. Secondly, by the time FIFA 20 releases at the end of September, we should have started to see stock of the updated Switch appearing, so you’ll be getting extra battery life in which to take your team to glory for the same console RRP!

That’s not all, though. Nintendo have also announced an entirely new version of the Switch, the Switch Lite. Completely handheld, the big selling point of the Switch Lite is its price, a huge £80 less (RRP) than the current model. If current trends are anything to go by, don’t be surprised if you’re able to pick up a Switch Lite FIFA 20 bundle for around the £220 mark (if not a bit less) at Black Friday, which would be a real bargain.

Xbox One FIFA 20 bundle buyer’s guide

Last but not least, it’s the Xbox One. While no ‘official’ bundles will come directly from Microsoft themselves, retailers will definitely be pairing both the One S and One X consoles with one of the must-have games of the year.

The One S bundles are likely to be the most cost-effective way of getting the full FIFA 20 experience, particularly over Black Friday. Like the PS4, the Xbox One is coming towards the end of its life, and we’ve already seen the price of the S dip below £170 at times. A deal around that price with the console and FIFA 20 isn’t out of the question if you’re willing to wait for a month or two after the 27th of September release date.

The One X has been receiving some intriguing price drops too, and it’s hard to say quite how cheap the console could be on Black Friday with its replacement already on the horizon. However, it remains for the time being the most powerful games console ever, and there’s no better console on which to fully immerse yourself in EA’s football sim.

Finally, a quick word of warning on Xbox One FIFA 20 bundles. We’ve recently spotted some retailers bundling physical copies of games with the latest version of the Xbox, the One S All-Digital Edition. The problem here is that, as the name suggests, the S All-Digital can only play downloaded games - it has no disc drive, making physical games completely redundant.

In cases such as these, we’ve aimed not to list the bundles on Gaming Deals, due to them being listed by retailers by accident. We don’t feel these bundles are in any way deliberate, but we still want to protect our users. You won’t see any such FIFA 20 bundles on Gaming Deals when the game launches, but it’s just something to bear in mind if you’re planning on picking up a bundle directly from a retailer.
