Originally launched worldwide on October 13, 2016, PlayStation VR still acts as the only way to successfully step into the world of Virtual Reality using a home console. Other VR headsets like Oculus Rift and HTC Vive might do the job on PC, but PSVR is far more affordable from the jump and doesn’t require players to spend thousands on a PC rig capable of handling the extra rendering load.

Despite being the cheapest VR entry point, PSVR will still net you an average cost of around £250 – and that’s not even considering any additional games you need to play on it. Because of this, we at Gaming Deals have put together this nifty guide, aimed at letting you take advantage of the best PSVR finance options such as 0% interest, Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL), pay monthly and pay weekly. We’ve gathered up all the retailers offering these plans and done the research, so you don’t have to.

Interest free PSVR Finance

PSVR Finance 0% Interest Free

Opting for an interest free PSVR finance plan will surely be the ideal for most potential purchasers, being the only finance plan option where you can buy Sony’s headset, spread the cost and not pay a single dime of interest. Interest Free (sometimes also known as 0% interest) is the perfect fit for those wanting to space out their PSVR payments and not pay for the privilege. And luckily for you, various retailers offer interest free PSVR finance options, and they are:

AO Interest Free PSVR Deals. Paid on a month-by-month basis, AO is one of the biggest online retailers to offer PlayStation VR on interest free finance. They offer it over a period of 6 or 12 months, but the in order to qualify for the latter your purchase will need to be priced at £350 or more. If you want 12-month interest free PSVR finance from AO be sure to throw in some extra games. The good news is that there's absolutely nothing to pay up front - and AO will send your PSVR headset out to you the very next day.

Argos Interest Free PSVR Deals. To take advantage of Argos’ interest free finance, you’ll need to first sign up for their in-store credit care known as the Argos Card. Interest free credit at Argos is offered up to a period of 12 months with no additional cost when you purchase a PSVR headset using this, which allows you to pay back the full amount as and when it suits you – you’re not limited to specific dates.

GAME Interest Free PSVR Deals. The UK’s biggest games retailer offers 0% finance for Sony’s PSVR headset, but it’s only applicable through their online storefront and only for those who use PayPal. The good news is that it can be used on any product over £99, entirely free of interest providing you’re able to pay it off over a period of 4 months. That’s not a lot of time, but the price barrier to securing PSVR interest free is lower than most.

Music Magpie Interest Free PSVR Deals. Music Magpie is a unique interest free retailer in that they are one of the few that allows purchasers to spread the cost on a pre-owned PSVR headset. Again, your order will need to be over £99 to qualify and is only possible using the PayPal Credit service, which offers a fast way of taking out finance on PSVR.

Buy Now Pay Later PSVR Finance

Buy Now Pay Later PSVR Finance

If you’re desperate to jump into PSVR but haven’t got the means to pay for it upfront, you can take out a  buy now pay later finance plan from the same retailers we just listed that offer interest free finance, namely AO.com, Argos, GAME, and MusicMagpie. The period in which to settle the account in full without accruing any interest will be between 3 and 12 months. If you want to spread the cost over the maximum term of 12 months, picking up a PSVR headset using an Argos Card is currently the only way. However, if you want or can only afford to pay over 6 months, AO.com works just as well.

Pay Monthly PSVR Finance

If you’d prefer to spread the cost of your PSVR headset purchase and pay for it on a month-by-month basis, there are plenty of retailers that allow you to do so. One retailer that offers some of the cheapest PSVR deals is Currys PC World and it offers pay monthly finance at 24.9% APR representative.

Pay Weekly PSVR Finance

Pay weekly PSVR finance plans is ideally suited to those that are either paid on a weekly basis or simply wish to pay back the cost of the headset at a much quicker rate – reducing the likelihood that you’ll ever forget. This is particularly useful for any pay weekly finance plan that’s interest rate only increases the longer you leave it. There are a couple of pay weekly finance PSVR plans open to you.

  • Argos is a retailer that doesn’t strictly offer a pay weekly finance plan, but the set-up of its Argos Card is geared in such a way that customers can treat it as such. This is all thanks to the retailer’s nature of letting you pay back any item placed on its finance up to a length of 6, 9 or 12 months (depending on which plan your PSVR purchase falls under) without risk of accruing interest at a rate that suits you. You’ll have to sign up for an Argos Card, but it’s a viable option for those that want to pay weekly.
  • The other option is to purchase a PSVR Headset via a pay weekly plan at BrightHouse. Like Music Magpie, they’re a pre-owned product retailer that offers the multiple consoles and accessories (not just PSVR) either as Pay Monthly, Pay Fortnightly or Pay Weekly at a fixed rate of 99.9% APR representative.

Getting PSVR Finance with bad credit

If you have bad credit history, your chances of securing finance on a PSVR from any of the retailers we’ve mentioned will be exceedingly unlikely. But there is one retailer that openly claims: “we offer credit to 96% of our customers”, with all consoles and accessories coming with 0% APR. The one drawback is that the prices are generally much higher than where you would find them elsewhere, but it’s still an effective way to spread the cost. To check them out, simply visit Lintronics.uk.
