There are a few different PS5 models out there now, with both the Disc and Digital versions of the console available in either the Slim or Standard sizes. Sony has a range of different colour console covers available which you can easily swap out with the white ones that come as standard. Whether you want to customise a new PS5 Slim console or swap out the covers to freshen up your older Standard sized console, you can find out where to buy all of the official PS5 console covers and how to install them down below.

PS5 Slim Digital and Disc console covers

When Sony refreshed its PlayStation lineup with the PS5 slim consoles, it made the console covers the same on each console so you don't have to worry about buying the wrong one, as long as it says "model group - slim" you'll be okay.

Playstation 5 Standard Disc Console Covers

There are quite a few more console covers for the standard PS5 console, as they've had more time to make them. There is a difference between the console covers for the PS5 Disc consoles and the Digital consoles, however, so make sure you're getting the right covers for your console.

PlayStation 5 Standard Digital Console Covers

Despite not being able to use the same console covers as the disc version of the original PS5, you can still get all the same console covers for your older PS5 digital console to make it look brand-new.

How to remove and attach the PS5 console covers

It's very easy to remove your PS5's white console covers and replace them with new ones, though there are slightly different methods needed for the new PS5 slim models and the standard models. Here's how you do it:

  • Regardless of which model you have, the first thing to do is turn off your PS5 console and unplug it before you start to remove the covers.

For PS5 Slim users

  • Place the console with the bottom facing up and the front side facing you, and then remove the feet.
  • Slightly lift the cover away from the console to detach its clips and remove it.
  • Align the new cover’s clips with the corresponding holes on the console and push in until you hear a “click”.
  • Repeat this on the other side, then you're good to reconnect the power cord and cables, and then turn on the power.

For PS5 Standard users

  • Remove the base.
  • Position your PS5 console so that the PS logo is facing up and the power button is facing away from you.
  • Grip the bottom left corner of the cover and remove it by slightly pulling up and to your right.
  • Attach the new top cover by sliding it on from right to left, you'll hear a click when the cover is secured.
  • Turn the console over so the PS logo is facing the floor.
  • Grip the top left corner of the cover and remove it by slightly pulling up and to your right.
  • Attach the new bottom cover by sliding it on from right to left.
  • You can now reconnect the power cord and cables, and then turn on the power.
