Microsoft unveil what new titles are set to arrive on Xbox Game Pass in May

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: Xbox Game Pass is currently one of the best deals in gaming. Not only because members gain instant access to a rotating library of 100 games, but because several new ones come to the service throughout the month – as was evidenced over on the official Xbox Wire earlier this afternoon.

While we’d already received word that Rockstar’s uber-engrossing Red Dead Redemption 2 would be coming to Xbox Game Pass on May 7th, we now know that DayZ, an open-world survival game, will be arriving right alongside it the exact same day. Then, just one week later on May 14th, Microsoft might have to wait 12 months before the recent Final Fantasy VII remake graces its platform, but the sting of this is lessened somewhat by Final Fantasy IX being made available instead.

Finally, if that still wasn’t enough, on May 19th Xbox Game Pass will also be making Fracture Minds available to download and play for members. Described in the news post as “an immersive artistic short game”, it promises to be a memorable first-person experience that sheds further light on mental health. Fractured Minds was actually developed by 17-year-old Emily Mitchell, who won the BAFTA Young Games Designers award in 2017.

And unfortunately with all these new games (and likely more) coming to Xbox Game Pass in May, it does mean that we’ll also be saying goodbye to several other titles. The big one is GTA V on May 7th (the same day Red Dead arrives), but the full list is as follows:

May 15

  • Black Desert
  • Doom
  • Lego Ninjago Movie Video Game
  • Mega Man Legacy Collection 2
  • Metal Gear Survive
  • The Banner Saga
  • Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus

Of course, we keep an updated tally of what games are available to play on Xbox Game Pass for console at all times. You can check that out here. And if you’re yet to sign up, you can find the cheapest membership prices from around the web below:
