Sony’s Blood & Truth is the first VR game to top the sales charts

Blood & Truth may have been touted as the platform’s next major Triple-A exclusive, but it’s hard to imagine anyone predicting that people were this hungry what is effectively a John Wick simulator played in VR. Excluding digital sales, Blood & Truth was the best-selling game in the UK this week!

London Studio’s Guy Ritchie-inspired PSVR title beat out the likes of Team Sonic Racing, Mortal Kombat 11 and FIFA 19, making it the first ever VR claim the no.1 spot of the UK physical retail charts. We won’t know digital numbers until a little later on this week, but it’s safe to say that PSVR’s latest is an unabashed runaway success, which makes sense when you consider the various price drops PlayStation’s VR platform has continued to experience.

For those unaware, Blood & Truth is the latest game from veteran Getaway developer London Studio, which aims to make you feel like a Hollywood action star. Players take on the role of ex-war vet Ryan Marks, who returns home to London only to find that his family is being threatened by a rival gang. Doing so involves shooting bad guys, crashing through windows and hotwiring cars. All these set pieces are experience in first-person virtual reality, bringing you closer to the action like never before.
