The sun is
starting to shine and the games just keep on releasing, with May covering a
wide gamut of genres that should appeal to all types of player. This month even
sees some titles that have been long delayed finally enter people’s hands, cautiously
letting them discover if the wait has been worth it. Whether you play on
Nintendo Switch, PlayStation or Xbox, below we’ll round up all of May’s biggest
games and where you can currently find them at the best price.
It all
kicks off in a big way at the start of the month with the release of a new
colour variant for Nintendo’s console, and then the game releases never really
stop. From one of the tentpoles of survival horror making its grand return to
the revival of a beloved Sci-Fi trilogy being mastered for modern consoles, we
at Gaming Deals are sure there’ll be something for you to play during May.
Attractive
Nintendo Switch Lite colours existed before, but with the release of the ‘Fresh
Blue’ variant on May 7th the House of Mario has pulled out all the
stops. It’s a deep, purple-ish shade that players have noted looks extremely
similar to the Nintendo GameCube’s iconic shade, giving the colourway inherent nostalgic
vibes. The ‘Fresh Blue’ model won’t release as part of a bundle, yet fresh
Switch purchasers will have plenty of new games to play thanks to New Pokemon
Snap! and Miitopia launching around a similar time.
ResidentEvil Village will mark the second entry to opt for the first-person perspective
in Capcom’s iconic survival horror franchise. This makes sense considering it
picks up directly after the events of Resident Evil 7: BioHazard, with Ethan tasked
with finding his stolen daughter within an eerily creepy village located
somewhere in Eastern Europe. Village promises to be unsettling, claustrophobic
and primed to continue Resident Evil’s return to the roots of survival horror.
PS5 and Xbox players can look forward to some serious scares on May 7th
when Resident Evil: Village releases.

Seeking a
new online multiplayer fix? Hood: Outlaws and Legends is an intense PvPvE
experience that could fill that gap, casting groups of four players as a band
of medieval heroes who must undergo heists to steal unseen treasures. You’ll
choose between different classes like The Ranger, Hunter, Brawler and Mystic,
all of whom boast special skills that makes them an asset when performing
missions. If you want to reap glorious rewards and overcome the rich within a
grim version of 13th century England, play Hood: Outlaws and Legends
on May 10th.
The original
Mass Effect trilogy is widely considered to be a series of the best Western
RPGs ever made. That’s why it’s exciting that players both new and old will get
a chance to play them again by way of a remastered package known as Mass Effect Legendary Edition. Featuring all-new mechanics, modern visuals and most of the
previously released DLC for all three games, this is the definitive way to play
Bioware’s sprawling magnum opus. It releases May 14th on PS4 and
Xbox One, but will be forwards compatible with next-gen consoles, too.

If you’ve
ever wanted to star in your own video game alongside family and friends,
Miitopia for Nintendo Switch should absolutely be your thing. Riffing off other
popular life simulation series like The Sims and Theme Hospital, here you’ll
start off by creating your own suite of characters, assigning roles for them to
play during the succeeding adventure. Miitopia is an RPG game with a difference.
And while a version off it may have originated on the Nintendo 3DS, this new
Switch version brings added customization options and a new companion horse.
May 21st is when it launches.
Another
month means another open world game – but at least Biomutant looks to be one
with a difference. Releasing this May 25th for both PS4, Xbox One,
as well as the next-gen consoles, Biomutant comes from ex-Just Cause developers
and merges the concept of exploration and RPG mechanics with a unique Kung-Fu
fighting style. You’ll upgrade and customize your own biomutant while mastering
more melee powers and better, improved gear. This is one that’s been years in
the making, so hopefully Biomutant will have been worth the wait on May 25th.
