The holiday season is scarily close to being upon us,
which means that the big games are indeed coming. This September sees a strong
hint of that with the likes of Arkane’s latest time-looping hit, alongside the
rampant return of a certain blue hedgehog. The truth is, in fact, that a whole
lot is going on amidst all console platforms. This means that it doesn’t matter
whether you play primarily on PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo Switch – there’s
bound to be something releasing for you.
In this article we’ll be looking ahead to all of September’s
gaming joys, running through every big game set to release on PS5, PS4, Xbox
and Nintendo Switch. And if that wasn’t enough, we’ll also include the lowest
available pre-order price for each game. It’s never been easier to save money
on the games you’re most looking forward to. Let’s take a look…
Originally released exclusively on the Wii back in 2010,
Sonic Colours was an underrated gem of a platformer that understood better than
most how to make Sega’s mascot fun. That’s why it’s exciting to see this
remaster version, known as Sonic Colours Ultimate, release on most major
platforms this September 7th. Now a new generation of Sonic fans can
undertake this vibrant adventure, overcoming dangerous obstacles and enemies to
save the race of Wisps.

It’s been a hot minute since we were last treated to Wario’s
zany mini-game delights. That soon looks about to change, however, thanks to
the launch of WarioWare: Get it Together on Nintendo Switch this September 10th.
This time around there’s an emphasis on co-op, as both Joy-Cons can be broken
off so you can indulge in the madcap mayhem with a friend. Get It Together
presents players with over 200 microgames to quickly work out and overcome. Expect
hilarity to ensue.
The next annual Sports release from 2K will test your mettle
out on the court, in this updated basketball sim that comes packed with better
visuals, features and modes only possible on next-gen systems. Sure, NBA: 2K22
will still let you take on rivals on the likes of PS4 and Xbox One, but it’s on
PS5 and Xbox Series where shooting for the hoop comes alive. Build your own
dream squad in the MyTeam mode, then rise up through the NBA’s ranks in
MyCareer. It’s all here on September 10th.

Long-time JRPG fans won’t want to miss what Bandai Namco have
cooked up next with its Tales series. That’s not to say new players won’t enjoy
it either, as Tales of Arise weaves an entirely new story centred on two
warriors from opposing worlds – Dahna and Rena – who must come together to
battle dark forces. Tales of Arise launches on most consoles this September 10th,
continuing Bandai Namco’s winning streak after the rampant critical acclaim it
had with Scarlet Nexus earlier this year.

2021 continues to be the year of time loop games, with Bethesda’s
Deathloop being the latest in a long line. Here you play as assassin Colt,
trapped in the stylistic of island of Black Reef. Getting the day to end requires
him to take down 8 different targets, either using his creative arsenal of guns
or reality-warping powers. It’s the newest game from Arkane, the dev behind
Prey and Dishonored, and will launch as a time-limited PlayStation 5 exclusive
on September 14th.
What initially began as a spin-off of Sega’s Yakuza series
has quickly become its own beast, as proven by the release of this sequel Lost Judgement this September 24th. Takayuki Yagami is back to his detective
efforts, this time investigating a man’s guilt/innocence in a high-profile
public harassment case. It’ll be your choice as to whether stick by the side of
the law or seek an alternative form of justice. Whatever you choose, it’ll all
take place against the backdrop of the beautiful Isezaki Ijincho district.
