The beginning of the year has already seen all manner of Triple-A games delayed into the Summer, but thankfully very few February releases have been affected. This month marks a time of year where there’s not too much coming out, making it easy for players to more comfortably stay on top of the big, blockbuster games instead of scrambling to enjoy them all. However, it’s appropriate that Valentine’s day is now upon us, as February introduces plenty of games worth falling in love with.

What’s notable about every new big game releasing on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch in February 2020 is the sheer amount of variety on offer. From first-party exclusive titles that lets you play developer to console versions of great games previously only playable on PC, there’s plenty to get excited about. Wondering what to spend your hard-earned money on? The following list has got you covered…

Zombie Army 4: Dead War (February 4th)

You’ll already have heard us bellow quite a bit about February’s launch of Zombie Army 4: Dead War, and that’s simply because it acts as one of the month’s biggest games. The first standalone entry into the Zombie Army Series, Dead War sheds its Sniper Elite skin to fully embrace four-player co-operative action. Set in an alternate history where Hitler has been sent to hell and is now raising the dead, it’s up to you and a team of others to gun down legions of zombies. Look out for it on February 4th on Xbox One and PS4.

Yakuza Remastered Collection (February 11th)

If you’re a gamer that appreciates value, you’ll no doubt be excited for the release of Yakuza Remastered Collection on February 11th. As is likely clear from the name, this isn’t a brand-new instalment into the Yakuza series but rather an exclusive PS4 collection that sees entries 0-6 packed together neatly. The result is the perfect way to experience the story of Kiryu, Dragon of the Dojima, from his early 80s beginnings all the way up to modern day. What’s more, most of the PS2 and PS3 games recently received remasters, making their graphics on par with the modern releases.

Darksiders Genesis (February 14th)

Having already released on PC this past December, Valentine’s Day sees the arrival of Darksiders Genesis on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. It shakes up the Darksiders formula quite substantially in that it opts for a top-down perspective rather than the traditional third-person view seen in previous games. Letting you switch between newcomer Strife and the first game’s protagonist War, Darksiders Genesis actually takes place before the first Darksiders and sees you and a friend hack and slash your way through hordes of hellish creatures. Colourful, satisfying and fun, get ready to fall head over heels for Darksiders Genesis.

Dreams (February 14th)

While there’s a fair argument to say that Dreams has already been released in some capacity, February finally marks the month where Media Molecule’s incredibly ambitious game-making platform leaves early access and fully launches. Featuring enough tools for you to make your own first-person shooter, platformer and most other genres, the full release of Dreams also actually features three full campaigns to showcase what these tools can achieve. Dreams is just as much about sharing as it is creation, as players from all over the world can share assets and collaborate.
