A new interactive horror adventure from the makers of Until Dawn, Man of Medan is the first in a planned series of anthology horror games, letting you take hold of five character who have found themselves trapped on a haunted ghost ship. Control is the first project Remedy Games has released since 2016’s Quantum Break, repurposing some of the cool third-person ideas born in that game and taking them much further here. You play as Jesse Faden, a person forced to enter a shady organisation called the Federal Bureau of Control in search of her lost brother. It promises to be a mind-twisting descent into the unknown, with the Metroid-like structure constantly altering to keep you on your toes. Featuring a cool combination of supernatural powers and satisfying shooting, Control is out on PS4 and Xbox One on August 27th.
A Nintendo Switch exclusive from the makers of Vanquish, Bayonetta and MadWorld, Astral Chain is an incredibly stylish action game that places you in the shoes of a police officer tasked with eradicating crime from a neon open world. There’s also an onslaught of alien-like creatures now threatening to invade the world, making it more important ever that you do the duty of an enforcer and use every weapon and skillset available to you. It arrives on Nintendo Switch August 30th, continuing what has already been a great year of exclusives for Nintendo’s hybrid console.
If your aching for some classic car combat and demolition derby then Wreckfest is a new August game that could be perfect for you. It’s all about creating the most epic crashes possible, driving hard to engage in crazy car-to-car battles. There’s plenty of vehicles to get behind the wheel of, and customisation options include roll cages, side protectors and much more.
