The original Nintendo Switch, released in 2017, revolutionized the gaming industry. It offered gamers a home console experience that could be taken on the go, used as a handheld device or connected to a television. The original Switch was available in 2 colour themes, Grey or Neon Red & Blue.
Below are the Original Nintendo Switch Limited Edition releases, ordered by the release date.
Nintendo's first limited edition bundle included Splatoon 2. North America got lucky on this bundle as this version came with Pink and Green Joy-Cons which was a nice touch (matching the Splatoon 2 Ink theme). They also got an additional case which was sold separately in the EU
The US version of the console was different to the EU/UK version in that it was bundled with a Splatoon 2 themed travel case and Pink & Green Joy-Con controllers.

What a game this is, Super Mario Odyssey was Nintendo's first Nintendo Switch platform adventure game for the hugely successful Super Mario Bros series. The bundle included Mario Bros Red Joy-Con controllers (nice touch Nintendo) and the US was lucky in that their version included a Mario Odyssey themed travel case. This followed a similar pattern to the Splatoon bundle released earlier, kinda sucks for the EU.

This is a bit of an odd combination of games. It's almost as if Nintendo weren't quite sure if Mario Tennis Aces was a good enough game to be bundled on its own so decided to check the back of the sofa for any games lying around and discovered 1-2 Switch. Don't get me wrong, its a solid bundle and who doesn't like an additional game?
This was a US only release.

The hardware featured Yellow and Brown Pokémon Themed Joy-Cons and Pickachu and Eevee graphics applied to the Dock. The bundle also included the Poké Ball controller which added extra immersive features when playing Pokémon: Let’s Go, nice touch Nintendo.
This was a global release, with minor differences to the box artwork depending on the region.
The only difference between the Pikachu and Eevee versions was the game itself, the console artwork and bundle contents are identical, regardless of the choice of game.

This was almost inevitable... Fortnite and Nintendo coming together to produce a limited edition bundle with exclusive in-game items.
It is a shame Nintendo didn't do more with the console artwork, the bundle itself has no physical differences when compared to the standard Nintendo Switch Neon Blue & Neon Red console. With Fortnite being free to play, there was no need to include a full digital game code, instead, Nintendo included 1000 V-Bucks for players to spend in-game and a Double Helix item bundle which contains the Back Bling character outfit, glider and pickaxe.
The Double Helix Fortnite Pack includes 1000 V-Bucks, Back Bling character outfit, glider and pickaxe.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and the Nintendo Switch is a match made in heaven, to date, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the best-selling Nintendo Switch game ever (over 48 million copies sold!). It's no wonder that Nintendo has looked to push this game as part of a bundle as often as possible.
Unfortunately, it's been relatively dull in terms of hardware creativity from Nintendo on the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Switch bundles. All bundles to date are based on the standard Nintendo Switch Neon Red & Blue bundle.
The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Switch bundle has been released multiple times since November 2018, usually to coincide with the peak shopping period at Christmas (Black Friday week).

The Nintendo Switch Animal Crossing bundle is a must-have for any Animal Crossing fan!

With its tropical design, this special edition console provides a charming and immersive gaming experience letting you take your island adventures on the go.
Interestingly, the US version of this bundle does not come with the Animal Crossing: New Horizons game. I know, we're as baffled as anyone as to why Nintendo took this decision.

Another Fortnite bundle hit the shelves on October 30th and this time they decided to put a little bit more effort into the hardware design (see Fortnite Helix bundle above).
There are some cool design elements found in the Fortnite Wildcat bundle. The dock touts several logos and icons from the game splashed in a repeating pattern. This pattern can also be found on the back of the main Switch unit itself. Then, one final nice touch is on the right blue Joy-Con where the Switch home button takes on the shape of the infamous Fortnite Battle Bus, nice work Nintendo!
The Wildcat Bundle download code includes access to the Wildcat Outfit, a Sleek Strike Back Bling and 2000 V-Bucks

This is our favourite Nintendo Switch bundle to date and if you're a Mario fan, this is the bundle for you.
What is there not to like? The bundle comes with a vivid Mario themed Red and Blue design, travel case and stylish Red Joy-Con controllers. Also included are Blue Joy-Con straps and a controller grip which matches the Super Mario Bros theme. The only thing missing would be a bundled game, maybe Nintendo should have bundled a copy of Super Mario Odyssey - would that have been too much to ask?
A small re-release of this console happened on March 10th 2021 after the initial batch sold out. March 10th is often referred to as Mario day as when abbreviated "MAR10," spells Mario :)
