It’s been a couple months now since it was all but confirmed that players would be venturing back to the Second World War for the next Call of Duty instalment. A direct sequel to 2017’s Call of Duty: WWII, we now can officially say that this year’s effort will indeed be titled Call of Duty: Vanguard (as rumoured) – and will feature three separate editions at launch.
This latest leak comes by way of FPS website Charlie Intel, who confirmed further Call of Duty: Vanguard after new game files were uncovered in Black Ops Cold War following its latest update. This is our first glimpse at the game’s logo and key art, both of which boast an appropriately gritty aesthetic in line with fighting on the front lines during the throes of World War Two. Expect this period to look better than in any prior Call of Duty game, too, as this is only the second entry to release on next-gen consoles like PS5 and Xbox Series X.

The images reveal that Call of Duty: Vanguard will be sold as three separate editions in Standard, Cross-Gen and Ultimate. The latter of which grants players with “Open Beta Early Access”, which is plastered all over one of the main stills. Seeing as the series typically launches in November, it can’t be too much longer until the beta unlocks alongside the official reveal. Activision’s hand will no doubt be forced as a result of this leak.
Finally, the same picture hinting at beta access coming relatively soon also offers a glimpse at new playable operators within Vanguard’s chief multiplayer mode – indicating that this system will carry over from Callof Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Expect to play as Lucas, Polina and Wade whenever this early chance to play Vanguard goes live. Various weapons like the Breacher assault rifle, snowstorm Marksman rifle and Thunderhead submachine gun also feature in the artwork.
Latest rumours seemingly indicate that an official reveal for Call of Duty: Vanguard will happen sometime between mid- to late-August. We at Gaming Deals will keep you posted about this, as well as letting you know when pre-orders go Live!
