Released initially for PS3 and Xbox 360 way back in 2013,
Grand Theft Auto V is the gift that keeps on giving. But while you may think
that Rockstar is more than happy to sit back and let GTA Online bring in the
big bucks, various gaming insiders have corroborated that a sixth mainline
entry is officially in development. That’s the good news. The bad news is that
we won’t be seeing it until 2025 earliest, if these rumours are to be believed.
News of GTA Six’s potential release plan was first circulated
by Tom Henderson, an insider known for revealing accurate details on as yet
unannounced games. Henderson previously got the wheels turning with a video
posted on his YouTube channel last week, where he voiced that Rockstar’s next
GTA instalment would release in either 2024 or 2025. This would mark a 10 year
gap between GTA V and its sequel, if true.
So why is this all not just pure speculation? Well, because yesterday
over on Twitter, Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier responded to a question,
where he confirmed that he had heard similar details to the ones Henderson
revealed. “Everything Tom Henderson has said about the game matches up with
what I’ve heard,” he said. See the tweet below:
Idk why everyone thinks that I said GTA VI was coming in 2023. Everything Tom Henderson has said about the game matches up with what I've heard

Other details Henderson mentions in his video include the
fact that GTA Six will feature a “moderately sized” map that will continue to expand
and evolve over time, is likely to be set in a modern version of Vice City, and
will feature a major online component. These details aren’t exactly surprising.
As for the reason why GTA Six is taking so long to make? Sources claim it’s due
to Rockstar wanting to be more conscious of mental health amongst employees. Not
surprising considering the studio’s crunch culture criticisms not so long ago.
Are you excited for GTA Six to release some time in the next
four years? Here’s hoping this alleged return to Vice City will have been worth
the wait.
