PS4 was already for the players. Now it’s for the Ultimate Players too.

Following Microsoft’s announcement a couple of weeks ago of the Xbox One 1TB console bundle, Sony’s PlayStation 4 has followed suit with the new 1TB PS4 Ultimate Player Edition.

With twice the storage of the original 500GB PS4, you’ll be able to “download more of the games you love to your PS4, extend your play with more great add-on content and save and share even more of your best gaming highlights.” That’s direct from the PlayStation Blog.

When’s the 1TB PS4 coming out?

The new model is coming out 15 July, although some retailers have the date as 17 July. Either way, you can already pre-order your 1TB PS4 right here on ConsoleDeals.com.

1TB PS4 at £349, what next for 500GB model?

A couple of days ago, the official UK price was confirmed as £349. (That’s exactly the same as the 1TB Xbox One.) That said, we’re already seeing cheaper prices from online retailers – and you can compare and buy the cheapest 1TB PS4 bundles here.

We could also be seeing a price cut for the 500GB model, with prices already being cut lower than £280 at some shops. If you're still waiting for a better deal before you get into the current gen consoles, your moment could be coming soon.

1TB PS4 game bundles on the way?

The new 1TB PS4 is a standalone package with no games. But in light of the new 1TB Xbox One Forza 6 bundle, and with the two competitors seemingly set on maintaining parity with each other, we expect there'll be some tempting PS4 bundles on the way soon.

20th Anniversary DualShock 4 coming too

For gamers who owned and loved the original PlayStation, this news might be even more exciting than the 1TB PS4.

As you may remember, in 2014 Sony released a PlayStation 4 20th Anniversary Edition, in the iconic grey colour scheme of the PS1. Numbers were extremely limited – but now everyone can get in on the nostalgia, because the 20th Anniversary DualShock 4 controller is coming out in September.

Is the new 1TB PS4 a worthwhile upgrade over the 500GB model? Or would you rather pay less for half the storage? Let us know in the comments.
