The original PlayStation 4 has received a substantial price drop and is currently available for £149.99 making it the cheapest current generation console ever.
Just weeks after the official announcement of the PlayStation 4 Slim and PlayStation 4 Pro, a number of retailers, including GAME and Smyths Toys are set to offer a 500GB PS4 with LEGO Star Wars for £149.99 or a 1TB PS4 with LEGO Star Wars for £179.99. Both bundles also include a copy of Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Blu-ray.
Whether this is a permanent price drop or not remains to be seen, but the current price could prove to be an indication of what kind of deals people can expect with Black Friday just around the corner.
Phil Jones of Console-Deals.com, said, "With the arrival of the PS4 Slim we've been expecting a price drop on the standard model, particularly as last week the new Xbox One S dropped to just £199.99. We weren't expecting the standard PS4 to drop as low as £149.99 though."
Whether the PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro prices will drop as we start to come towards Black Friday remains to be seen, but £149 for a current generation console will take some beating and the ball is once again in Microsoft's court to respond in kind.
