Rockstar must be sympathising with every Xbox player stuck at home big time, because today it’s been revealed that the developer’s 2018 Western blockbuster, Red Dead Redemption 2, will soon arrive on Xbox Game Pass. A prequel tale to the 2010 original, it follows Arthur Morgan and the rest of the Dutch van der Linde gang as they struggle to survive the final years of the Wild West.
Announced via an official news post over on Xbox Wire, Red Dead Redemption 2 will arrive on Microsoft’s streaming service on May 7th – the same day Rockstar’s other Triple-A behemoth GTA V will be leaving. Well that’s just fine to us, as it’s the perfect game in which to lose yourself right now and use as an escape.
Of course, those who wish to play Red Dead Redemption 2 will need to subscribe to Xbox Game Pass, which is typically priced at £7.99 per month but can regularly be found for a lower price elsewhere (see below). Still, if you are a member of the service you can already begin to pre-load the game, which may be worth while as it’s extremely sizeable.
One thing that's still unclear is if Red Dead 2 will be exclusively coming to Game Pass solely on console, or indeed to its PC version, too. We'll keep you posted.
Giddy up everyone, because staying in isolation just got better thanks to red Dead Redemption 2’s imminent arrival on Xbox Game this May 7th.
