Pre-orders now live for newly revealed Animal Crossing Nintendo Switch

Nintendo might be holding firm on the idea that they won’t be releasing a new Nintendo Switch model to compete with Xbox Series X and PS5, but that hasn’t stopped the Japanese game company from announcing a new, limited-edition version of the classic Nintendo Switch model. The special edition in question is theme around March 20^th’s release of Animal Crossing: New Horizons – and pre-orders for the attractive-looking console are now live.

The news that a special edition of the Nintendo Switch would be arriving was first announced by Nintendo itself online, who took to Twitter to tease us with some beautiful images relating to the new console. “Start a new island life when this Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nintendo Switch bundle comes to Europe,” the company proudly decreed. And as you’d expect, Nintendo fans quickly were sent salivating.

Well, arguably much better news than simply announcing the thing, you can already pre-order the Animal Crossing: New Horizons edition of the dockable Nintendo Switch from a couple retailers. Below we’ve pulled in the best pre-order prices currently available, but obviously because it’s yet to be released, don’t expect it to budge much (if at all) to less than its £329.99. However, there is a slight call for celebration as the description clearly notes that this special Switch edition will indeed include the game itself. Sounds silly, we know, but then this wasn’t the case for the Pokemon Sword/Shield Nintendo Switch Lite.

Featuring a pastel green shade on the left Joy-Con and a pastel blue on the right, this really is one of the most attractive editions of the Nintendo Switch we’ve seen yet – particularly for Animal Crossing fans. The back of the main Switch screen unit itself sports multiple icons relating to the classic life-sim series – and even the dock itself boasts a beach-like yellow tone with what we presume is Tom Nook and his family squeezed onto a remote island in the corner. Very nice indeed!
