UPDATE: The price for the Destiny 2 White PS4 Pro bundle has been confirmed as £400 - order it here.

With the upcoming launch of the Xbox One X, we're all wondering what moves Sony are going to make with the PS4 Pro in order to try and win the battle for premium console supremacy in Q4 2017. Price cuts, games bundles, VR tie-ins and more have been suggested, but another area that has yet to be explored for the Pro is a much more simple one - console colours.

The Pro has only been available in the classic PlayStation black since launching in November of last year, and with the Slim version of the PS4 being available in both white and black, many have wondered how long it would take for Sony to create a glacier white Pro, given how successful the white Slim has been for them.

With the upcoming release of the highly anticipated Destiny 2 having several exclusive PlayStation tie-ins, Sony are looking to leverage the popularity of the series by creating a console bundle designed to tempt those aiming to play on other platforms to the PS4.

Not only does this type of integrated bundle hint at Sony trying to entice more people to buy the Pro through subsidised bundles - which is fantastic - but this particular bundle is notable as it marks the first time we've seen a white PS4 Pro.

If you've been holding off on a Pro in order to get a white one then this may well be the bundle for you. However, if you're not a fan of the Destiny series and don't want to pay for the game, you may well be wondering whether the white Pro will be available on its own.

So far, there's been no official word on whether you will be able to buy the console in the white colourway on its own. However, the fact that there is no Destiny 2-related branding on the console suggests that there's little stopping Sony from shipping the consoles without Destiny 2 once the game bundle as run its course.

The bundle will launch on September 6th to coincide with the launch of the game. No word on a UK price yet, although the US RRP is $449.99, so a price of around £400 seems the most likely scenario.
