Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is an upcoming action-adventure game from Team Ninja, the developers behind the beloved Nioh series. Set in the chaotic Three Kingdoms period of China, this dark fantasy tells the story of a nameless militia soldier fighting for survival. Players will take on the role of their own fully customisable hero who can control the elements of earth, wind, fire and water through spirit powers, allowing them to decimate powerful enemies. Become a living legend as you master Chinese martial arts alongside your supernatural abilities and defy the odds fighting the demon army that infest the world.
The game is based on The Romance of the Three Kingdoms and promises to be an exciting retelling of Chinese history with a demon-infested twist. Players will have access to various weapons and abilities as they explore a world filled with danger and adventure. Progress your character with new skills and abilities as you go through the game investing in the fighting style you enjoy. Expect a huge amount of challenge here as Team Ninja know how to bring difficulty to their games and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty will be no exception, the phrase tough but fair comes to mind.
If you're interested in picking up Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty look no further as this page has all the best Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty deals across all available platforms both physical and digital to find the best price for you. Oh and by the way, if you're playing on the Xbox / Microsoft Windows PC platforms Wo Long: Fallen dynasty is on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate day one!
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty has a new system that encourages both combat and exploration. Both the player and enemies will have a morale rank which indicates their strength. Having a higher rank than your enemy effectively means you're much stronger than them in combat. You will gain morale rank by killing foes but if you are to die you lose morale rank thus losing power in the process (the same is true for your enemies). Killing enemies with higher morale ranks than yourself increases your own rank faster however you must manage the risk of potentially dying. Furthermore, there is another rank called the fortitude rank which is acquired by exploring and placing flags in set locations; some of these will be the game's checkpoints (similar to bonfires in Souls games) others will be well-hidden or protected by dangerous foes.
Your morale rank cannot be reduced below your fortitude rank so consider these as your permanent power increases alongside getting better gear and items. This is an interesting way to handle the difficulty of the game in order to entice players to explore their surroundings before moving on. Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty's movement looks much improved from Nioh 2 with a double jump and unlimited stamina exploration looks to be far more enjoyable.
If there's one thing the Nioh games get right it's their combat, there are many options with so many weapon types and builds to make which means players have so many choices. Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is only enhancing this with 13 melee weapon types and distinctive skill sets known as the "Five Phases" to take advantage of which provide you with powerful Wizardry spells. Some examples of weapon types available are dual swords, glaives, straight swords, and Staves. Each individual weapon also has its own martial arts which are special abilities you can take advantage of with your spirit gauge, this means there are even significant differences within a single weapon type. Spirit is an energy source that you gain with the use of offensive moves and is spent on powerful abilities.
Oh, you can also summon divine beasts in combat when you're being overrun. Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is looking so exciting when it comes to combat and that's what we'd expect, so many options and so much to offer we can't wait to dive in and experience it with our own builds.
Not only can you customise your combat experience with the weapons you choose but also the way in which you approach combat. Stealth can lead to enormously powerful attacks reducing an enemy's morale rank and dealing enormous damage. There is also the deflect technique which allows you to parry incoming attacks by dodging at the last second; reducing your foe's spirit but increasing yours, mastering the parry window will help make you an unstoppable force of demonic destruction.
Jump into online co-op and join forces with friends to take on the toughest foes. If you're ever struggling with an encounter in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty grabbing an ally is the best way to progress. The whole game can be enjoyed co-op if that's the way you prefer to play!
