What to look for in a gaming laptop

Buying a gaming laptop can be tricky, particularly if it’s not an area that you’re familiar with. These are the key features you should look for before choosing which gaming laptop to buy:

The processor

Processors are of utmost importance when picking a gaming laptop. Unfortunately, the terminology around them can be a bit labyrinthine. The key stat to look at (you may need to Google the precise processor you’re looking at) is the number of cores the processor has. These go as low as two and as high as sixteen, but for a solid gaming laptop, you’re probably going to want a minimum of four and ideally six or more.

Graphics card

While the processor determines what games the laptop can cope with in general, it’s the graphics card (or GPU) that dictates what resolution and at what frame rate you can expect.
