Unparalleled control on PlayStation 4
The PlayStation 4 is this generation’s best-selling video game console and the home to great Triple-A exclusives like God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man and Horizon: Zero Dawn. All these would remain a mystery to you were it not for the PS4’s Dualshock 4 controller, which is considered by many to be the best the classic design has ever been. It retains the asymmetrical analogue stick setup, complete with D-pad and four face buttons. However, this fourth iteration of the Dualshock introduces some cool new features.
The most noticeable change from prior Dualshock gamepad designs is the addition of a rectangular touchpad in the centre, which can be used in most titles for quick access to the in-game map. Another change is the addition of a lightbar – made use of in VR games that need to track your movement but will also change colour in most regular PS4 games to reflect certain moods or your current amount of health. The Dualshock 4 is the most inventive controller in making the games you play more interactive.
