Official PS5 DualSense Controllers

Take a look below at the range of official controllers for the PS5 Standard and Digital Edition Consoles.

Cheap PS5 Dualsense controller deals and prices

Sony is shaking things up when it comes to PlayStation 5 controllers, leaving the iconic ‘Dualshock’ pseudonym behind in favour of a new gamepad design called the Dualsense. This will act as the official PS5 controller going forward, making various innovations on its PS4 predecessor to help further enhance the gaming experience for next-gen players.

The Dualsense controller is packed full of features never seen in a PlayStation gamepad before. This includes immersive haptic feedback intended to help you feel closer to the game, dynamic adaptive triggers that will respond differently from game to game and a built-in microphone. The latter ensures that you’re never left wanting for a way to communicate with friends when playing on PlayStation 5.

A PS5 controller designed exclusively for next-gen

The PS5 Dualsense controller has been created to work exclusively with premiere PS5 experiences, with Sony confirming that the Dualshock 4 gamepad won’t work on the next-gen console unless it’s a PS4 title access through backwards compatibility. However, this does mean that PlayStation 5 games will feel much better to control and handle than PS4 games ever did. The DualSense controller unlocks the ability to play without limits on PS5.

A beautiful, blue and white two-toned Dualsense design

Both the standard and digital edition PlayStation 5 consoles boast an incredibly attractive white and blue two-toned design – marking a major step away from PlayStation’s typical black tone. This colour scheme successfully translates to the Dualsense controller itself too, where Robot White dominates most of the gamepad, combined with an underlying Dark Black grip and a subtle Blue glow underneath the Duelsense’s touchpad.

Share your PS5 experiences with the DualSense’s Create button

One of the Dualshock 4’s best features was its dedicated Share button, which allowed players to stream and upload screenshots to the internet instantly. The Dualsense controller continues this legacy with the new Create button, fully dedicated to helping you capture and broadcast all of your favourite PS5 experiences. Located just above the controller’s D-pad, the Create button offers more ways to share your adventures with the world.

Bold, bright and beautiful colourways to choose from

Back when the PS5 was released the only DualSense controller option was the white standard model we previously talked about. However, Sony has since released 4 more galaxy-inspired colours which are certainly striking and offer some nice variety. So far the new colourways are Midnight Black, Cosmic Red, Galactic Purple, Starlight Blue and Nova Pink. These galactic-themed controllers are certainly easy on the eye and are a far more enticing proposition for a second controller than doubling up on the standard white model. These new controllers have been available for a few months now and we're sure Sony will be releasing more special edition controllers with huge exclusives like God Of War: Ragnarok as well as just more general colourways like we saw over the life-span of the PS4.

PS5 DualSense Controller FAQ

Is PS5 DualSense Controller compatible with PC?

Yes, as long as your PC supports Bluetooth you can connect your PS5 DualSense Controllers via wireless Bluetooth. If you wish to use the PS5 DualSense Wireless Controller wired then you will need a USB-C to USB-A cable in order to connect. Keep in mind that the adaptive triggers will not function with your PC games.

Is the PS5 DualSense Controller compatible with PS4?

No, sadly the PS5 DualSense Wireless Controller is not backwards compatible with PS4 consoles.

Can you play PS4 games on PS5 with the DualSense Controller

Yes, you can play any old PS4 titles on your PS5 with the new PS5 DualSense Controller. Titles with PS5-specific updates/versions are likely to also take advantage of the DualSense controller's haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

How to charge the PS5 DualSense Wireless Controller

You can charge the PS5 DualSense Wireless Controller with a USB-C charging cable which delivers at least 5V of power. Connect the USB-C end of the cable to the port on the top of the controller; you will know the controller is charging when the light bar outputs an orange colour to indicate charging.

There is also a special port on the bottom for charging stations like the PS5 DualSense Charging Station which can charge two DualSense controllers at once.

How much is the PS5 DualSense Controller?

The standard price of the PS5 DualSense Wireless Controller is £59.99. However, we've seen several PS5 DualSense Controller deals bring the price down to around £44.99 on all colourways. This last happened on the PlayStation Days of Play sale so it's highly likely if you're patient you can get the PS5 DualSense Wireless controller for a decent chunk less than its RRP on events like Amazon Prime Day and Black Friday.
