Horizon Forbidden West is the sequel to the 2017 smash hit Horizon Zero Dawn, directly picking up where that game left off by continuing Aloy's mission to prevent the spread of dangerous machinery within this post-apocalyptic land. This journey to the eponymous forbidden west will see you meet fearsome new creatures, enemy tribes and many other obstacles, all of which will require a unique skillset will have to overcome.
The original Horizon: Zero Dawn gave us a good first look at what might happen should nature take over the American post-apocalyptic landscape. As the title suggests this time Aloy will be exploring the West, being a new area full of new mysteries to uncover all while trying to understand why Earth first collapsed in the first place. Horizon Forbidden West is an open-world Action RPG in the truest sense, which means that the sequel will start with Aloy relatively weak and under skilled. Eventually, though, you’ll acquire and purchase new abilities and weapons that unlock new combat opportunities, until you reach a point where even the fiercest robot creature is no longer a challenge.
